Note: Watch video Near Crowfoot Glacier After completing Big Rocks in Brigus earlier this year, my next project was Near Crowfoot Glacier, a depiction of an impressive mountain that captured my imagination.
For several reasons, I had to put the painting aside for a while after finishing the underpainting. Four months later, it started calling me. Finally, I picked up where I had stopped.
What appeals to me in this scene is how the gorgeous earth tones are set off by rich ochres, creating interesting patterns. I love how the ribbon of snow cuts through the rock with twists and turns and sits at the foot of the mountain, an intriguing visual element.

Note: Voir la vidéo Près du glacier Crowfoot Après avoir complété la toile Gros rochers de Brigus au début de l’année, j’ai entrepris un autre projet : Près du glacier Crowfoot, une montagne impressionnante qui a saisi mon imagination.
Pour bien des raisons, j’ai dû délaisser mon tableau après avoir complété l’ébauche. Quatre mois plus tard, la toile m’interpellait avec insistance alors je l’ai enfin reprise.
Ce qui me plait dans cette scène c’est le jeu des ocres qui rehaussent les couleurs terre, créant ainsi des effets fort intéressants. J’aime le long ruban de neige qui tranche le mur foncé pour aller se coucher au pied de la montagne, un effet visuel fascinant.
