Through my art, I try to understand the world we live in.
What appeals to me about the subjects I paint is their beauty, simplicity, courage and resilience.
About me
I am a native of Edmundston, New Brunswick. I showed an interest in the arts during my early school years. I loved to draw, read and write and I still do. I learned the basics of oil painting in 1983 when I was living in Sept-Iles on the Québec North Shore. It was the spark of my lifelong love for painting. Since then, I have actively pursued my art on my own by experimenting with colour and technique. I am fully committed to my art and I constantly strive to improve my skills and knowledge. Art books and biographies of master painters along with regular visits to museums and art galleries give me valuable historical insights.
I began painting birds in 2015. The following year I attended a 3-day workshop "Passion and Practices" given by artist, Robert Bateman. To watch and learn from Mr. Bateman was for me the opportunity of a lifetime.
Although many of my paintings represent scenes from my travels across Canada with my husband, I am broadly interested in rural landscapes, harbours, nature, birds and interior scenes.
